  • CHOOSING AND BRINGING HOME A NEW PUPPY
There is so much buzz these days about adopting vs buying a pet, I thought I would share my views on the subject. Let me begin by saying I fully support the work of many of the pet rescue organizations that are at work in North America.
So why buy a pet from a breeder? Well, first and foremost in my opinion is personal relationships. Any breeder that truly has the best interests of the pet in mind will expect and encourage an ongoing relationship with you. After all this will be a member of your family for many years, and the breeder can provide you with valuable insights into the character, health and behaviour of your new pet.
Breeders are experts at assessing the personality and character of their babies, they generally have many years of experience to draw from, and can be the best person to determine which pet will fit best into your particular situation. Responsible breeders are always prepared to take back a pet that they have bred, for any reason.
